Every December 2nd, the United Arab Emirates commemorates its National Day, known as the Spirit of the Union. This day holds special significance as it marks the unity of all seven Emirates into one nation. The festivities include vibrant firework displays, grand parades, and dazzling ceremonies, creating a joyous atmosphere that brings together both locals and expatriates.
The historic moment occurred on December 2, 1971, when the leaders of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain united to form the UAE. Led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president, the nation was established. In February 1972, Ras Al Khaimah joined as the seventh Emirate. Since then, UAE National Day has been an annual celebration marked by lively festivities across the country.
